Server Features

Adventure WoW is an AzerothCore Wrath of the Lich King private server focused on solo and small-group play, featuring quality-of-life improvements designed to keep you feeling powerful—all the way through endgame.

Leveling & Talents

  • Double Talent Points — Turn the meta on its head. With over 150 talent points available, players have complete build freedom for overpowered and advanced hybrid builds.
  • Double Quest and Pet XP — Reduce the grind and play the content that matters most. Questing time is cut in half without compromising the value of leveling your character.
  • Experience Point Vendors — Amassed tons of gold from questing and slaying? Skip the grind if you’ve got the coin. 1,000 XP per gold. Find the vendors in Stormwind & Orgrimmar.

Professions

  • Triple Professions — Save time switching between characters to craft items. More professions per character also improves overall character power with available passive buffs.
  • Double Skill Gain — Profession grinding requires half the work. Very helpful late game with expensive materials. Professions adjusted to prioritize crafting meaninful gear.
  • Buy Profession Points — Skilled apprentices are located near all primary trainers who are happy to show you the ropes. They exchange gold for skill gains, at a premium.

Quality of Life

  • Boosted Regeneration — Faster health and class power regen rates keep downtime to a minimum, keeping you in the fight longer and able to fight more frequently saving on grind time.
  • Automatic Skill Training — Ding! Time to get to your class trainer to see what cool skills...Wait a second! All of your class abilities train automatically when you level up!
  • Cooldowns Reset on Death — Wiped even after blowing all your cooldowns? Not to worry, try that fight again at full strength as soon as you run back. Less punishing deaths keep it fun.
  • Level 1 Dual Spec — Play how you want, when you want. Still requires 1000g but if you're leveling an alt, quickly switching between specs is a massive time saver for solo leveling.

Loot & Progression

  • Massive Drop Rate Boost — Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Quest drops are massively boosted keep your character geared, professions moving, and your wallet brimming with gold.
  • Boosted Reputation & Rewards — Multipliers to reputation and other point and currency based rewards makes progression feel smoother, more rewarding, and less of a time sink.
  • Gold Drop & Quest Boost — Massive gold drop values from mobs and quests ensures your purse keeps up with your power so you can keep a steady income no matter how you grind.
  • DK Intro Skip — The introductory Death Knight lore quests are now optional. The Lich King will teleport you the main city of your faction so you can head straight to Outland.

Auction House

  • Populated Auction House — A stocked auction house keeps consumables, glyphs, gems, materials, BoEs, and other on-demand items available when spending your hard-earned gold is more convenient than the grind.
  • Respecting the Power Curve — Epic bind on equip gear and weapons from the auction house are capped at item level 206. The AH offers meaningful and convenient upgrades intended to prep you for end-game battles.

Play & Endgame

  • Small Group Philosophy — The focus of the server is low-pop, but we try to tune character power to make end-game content accessible without relying on mods that arbitrarily adjust difficulty.
  • Customizations and Modifications — From double talent points to customized tier item stat points; players are inherently more powerful and capable of achieving greater heights while playing solo.
  • Discord Player Activity Log — With the magic that is Discord webhook integration, all level ups, deaths, epic drops, and achievements are broadcast live for all other players to see.

Mods & Extras

Custom Patch Bundle (RAR Archive 23.4 GB)
This RAR archive contains a comprehensive collection of custom game patch files that can be loaded to improve the quality of in-game textures, sounds, and interface elements. Common texture patches update character models, creature models, item models, spell animations, environmental textures, and more that have been back-ported from newer World of Warcraft game clients. Please follow the Modification Guide below to correctly install mods to your game client folder.

Large Address Aware (LAA) (ZIP Archive 14 KB)
This ZIP archive contains the Large Address Aware (LAA) portable executable that is required to modify the World of Warcraft client game executable (wow.exe) to support higher memory usage, allowing custom game textures and other patches to load. If you are interested in manually applying mods to your client, follow the Modification Guide below to correctly modify your wow.exe file.

WinRAR (ZIP Archive 1.6 MB)
This ZIP archive contains the installer for WinRAR 4.0 64-Bit (Windows). The archive includes a key file that activates the software when copied into the WinRAR installation directory. Installation Guide

  1. Download the Game: Choose whether you want the original or modified game client and download it. Once downloaded, move the archive to the desired location for your Warcraft installation and extract the game client from the archive. The archive will unpack into a folder called World of Warcraft.
    C:\Users\you\Games\
  2. Update the Realmlist: The realmlist file exists to tell the game client where it needs to connect to login and play. Modifying this value to the address of a private server will connect you to that private server when you open the game.
    1. Navigate to C:\<Your WoW Directory>\Data\enUS\
    2. Right-click on realmlist.wtf and choose Open with Notepad
    3. Replace the contents of the file with set realmlist auth.warcraft.wabsite.games
  3. (Optional) Install Addons: Download the WoW Addon Bundle above and extract its contents into a folder. Each addon is also packaged into a separate ZIP archive. Copy the ZIP file for the addon you want to install into your addons folder and extract it.
    C:\<Your WoW Directory>\Interface\Addons\
  4. Run the Game: Find the executable file and run it.
    C:\<Your WoW Directory>\wow.exe
  5. Configure Graphics: World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King released in 2008. As such, it is important to adjust the game's graphics settings and resolution to maximum to ensure it looks and behaves correctly.
    1. Click Options Video
    2. Set the resolution to the highest available:
      1920x1080, 2560x1440, 3640x2160
    3. Checkmark all boxes shown: Vertical Sync, Triple Buffering, Hardware Cursor, Reduce Input Lag, Windowed Mode, Maximized, and Disable Resize.
    4. Select Effects and move the slider to Ultra
  6. (Optional) Install Texture Patches & Mods: If you downloaded the unmodified game client and want to install mods, either follow the Modification Guide below or download the modified game client to experience what Wrath of the Lich King is like with modern textures and amenities. You can also click the Source link in the Modification Guide to visit a GitHub repo that outlines the various patches available so you can download them directly.

Modification Guide

The instructions below will help you modify the game executable to enable graphics and texture mods.

The Wrath of the Lich King game client is a 32-bit application, which limits the memory available to the executable to 2 GB. Running an unmodified version of the game executable with custom patches installed will likely cause the game to crash due to insufficient available memory. Patching your game executable increases its memory limit to the maximum 4 GB allowed for a 32-bit application.

  1. Download the Large Address Aware (LAA) ZIP from the Mods & Extras section above, and extract it into your game directory.
  2. Create a backup copy of the Wow.exe file so you can revert whenever needed.
  3. Open Large Address Aware (LAA.exe) and perform the following steps to modify the Warcraft executable:
    1. Open the LAA.exe application.
    2. Click Mode in the menu, then select Advanced
    3. Click Add Files and navigate to your wow game directory.
    4. Select Wow.exe and click Open You should now see wow.exe listed in the box.
    5. Checkmark the box to the left of Wow.exe
    6. Click With Selected then choose Force Large Address Aware
    7. Again, checkmark the box to the left of Wow.exe
    8. Click With Selected then choose Set Original To True
    9. Close the LAA application.
  4. You are now free to install whatever custom graphics or texture enhancement mods that you want.
    • Custom texture packs and other modifications are typically packaged in the form of an MPQ file.
    • MPQ patches are installed by placing them inside the Data folder located within your base Warcraft game directory.
    • MPQ patches are typically packaged with a name like patch-A.MPQ. MPQ files can be named from A to Z. It is recommended to leave the MPQ packages named as they were by the mod author. Their order dictates which files take load precedence. Files with conflicting names should be renamed and experimented to ensure they're functioning correctly.

Game Tools & Calculators

Talent Calculators

I rewrote and modernized an existing talent calculator application to support a customizable quantity of talent points, optimize layout with modern css practices rather than html tables, and used AI upscaled versions of original in-game artwork and icons. It's a WIP. It offers the ability to save and bookmark customized builds.

Item Lookup

I wrote the Item Lookup tool to help locate items in the database as well as pull customized item level information from Wowhead to help with item creation and modification.

Use the Lookup Tool: here.

Polynomial Visualizer

I wrote the Polynomial Visualizer tool to help with development of the server as well as other tools. It's required for functions of the Item Level Calculator.

Use Polynomial Visualizer on GitHub and Repo.

Item Level Calculator

I wrote the Item Level Calculator tool to help with creation, validation, or correction of weapon and armor item levels in the game.
